HIRSH, Gila Perach Am Yisroel Chai! No to Hitler!
Hitler´s expressed goal to turn the Jewish People into a museum of relics did not succeed, has not succeeded, and will never succeed.We live, we are here, and in turn with joy wish to share with all of mankind the many blessings we have been given.We are back, we have never left. Return our home to us so that we can create a Jewish Theater in Vienna once again!I have already been involved in two productions of the Jewish Theater of Austria as a singer, arranger, pianist, and actress and will be participating in the upcoming staged reading of "Die Judenstadt" by Warren Rosenzweig at the Jewish Museum of Vienna.The Nestroyhof Theater, once a thriving Yiddish Theater in Vienna, now stands empty and the active and critically acclaimed Jewish Theater of Austria finally needs the public support that it has been denied year after year, and it needs a home - a home that Jewish culture has been denied in this country ever since the attempt of the 20th century to destroy it forever.The Nestroyhof Theater once again needs to open its doors as a theater that serves the community - not only the remains of the Jewish community here in Vienna, but the community at large - Viennese, Austrian, European, and international.The historic Nestroyhof Theater, where Jewish theater culture once thrived, is the natural and rightful home for the Jewish Theater of Austria and a ground swell of public and private support is now needed.
