Paul Chaim Eisenberg was born in Vienna in 1950. He comes from a family of rabbis, studied mathematics and statistics in Vienna, then he studied to be a rabbi in Jerusalem. Since 1983 he is Chief Rabbi of the Vienna Jewish Community. Since 1988 he is also Chief Rabbi of the Austrian Association of Jewish Communities.
